Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Baby Photographer | 9-Day-Old Walker’s Studio Newborn Session

There is much discussion in the newborn photography community on what posing workflow to use during a session – as in what order we pose the babies in – but the truth is that babies always run the show!  Sure, I have an idea of what poses and props I would like to use, and I get as much of that in as I can, but babies’ comfort always trumps my idea of a perfect session.  If they show any discomfort or need a break for milk or cuddles, then that’s what we do.  My clients are always amazed at how much patience I have for allowing babies to settle or perfecting each pose in between babies’ twitches and startles, but it truly comes naturally for me with these tiny babies, and I know that my clients will appreciate me putting the effort into each setup.

Walker was a little doll for me, putting up with so much of my posing workflow and even showing me his eyes every once in a while.  I know that I always say this, but I truly believe I have the best job in the world.  Not only because I get to do what I love and capture it for my clients, but also because I get to spend so much time with these little miracles.
